  16.  COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS:

  18.       Any 486, pentium or better IBM compatible computer will successfully 
  19. run this game as long as it can run Windows 95 and has over 8 Mb of memory. 
  20. It  will  use any sound driver that your Windows has fitted (ie. a 
  21. sound card or PC speaker driver).   A mouse is required (as with all  
  22. Windows activities).  It works best if Windows has a standard 
  23. screen resolution, such as 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, or 1280x1024.   
  24. However, it can accommodate any resolution.   You should have at least 
  25. 256 colours in your Screen Color Palette.

  33.        This copyrighted game is distributed under the SHAREWARE system which 
  34. depends upon your support for on-going development.   You are encouraged to 
  35. freely copy and distribute this product unaltered to  friends,  business 
  36. associates, bulletin boards and user groups.   HOWEVER THIS  PRODUCT IS NOT 
  37. FREE!

  39.        You have an evaluation period of two weeks.  If you decide you do 
  40. not like the game, simply pass the disk along to someone else.   If you are 
  41. still using Bridge From Special K after two weeks  of  evaluation, you are 
  42. obligated to send a minimum payment of $28.   If the future of low-cost 
  43. quality software is to continue, we all must support this concept.   If you  
  44. cheat on this payment may you be constantly finessed.

  46.        When you register, you get lots of goodies, as well as that warm fuzzy 
  47. feeling that only comes from the knowledge that you are more saintly than the 
  48. scum around you.

  50.     If you registered a previous version that gave you life time 
  51. registrations (like this one does), simply setup this Shareware program on 
  52. top of the previous one (ie into the same directory).  It will become 
  53. registered.   DO NOT delete the previous version.

  58.  INSTALLATION:
  59.  
  60.        BRIDGE is distributed in a form which makes installation easy for you.    
  61. Like all Windows programs, its installation is more complex than DOS 
  62. programs, but the SETUP.EXE utility takes care of all this for you.    This 
  63. way, it can ensure that you have the correct Windows System files that it 
  64. needs to run properly, without you having to do any work.

  66.        After installation, you should have these files in the 
  67. \Program Files\Bridge directory -
  68.      BRIDGE.EXE  -  base program
  69.     BRIDGE.HLP  -  Windows help file
  70.     BRIDGE.TXT  -  ASCII text help file
  71.     REGO.FRM    -  user registration form
  72.     SCORES.BRG  -  game scores and set-up info
  73.     GAME.BRG    - saved game
  74.     *.CRD       -  data files.

  76.        In addition, it will make sure that you have a number of system
  77. operating files in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

  80.        If you received this software from a Bulletin Board or the Internet, 
  81. it will be compressed into the one file, eg BRIDGE.ZIP.   Before running the 
  82. installation program you will need to decompress it.   Create a temporary 
  83. directory, eg C:\MYTEMP, and decompress all the files into it.   The software 
  84. is now ready to install, as if you had bought it on a floppy disk.  Now run 
  85. the SETUP.EXE program.   The easiest way of doing this is choose RUN from 
  86. Windows START button, and type in the drive, directory, and SETUP.EXE name. 
  87. Alternatively, you can run it from the File Explorer.   If you have Winzip 
  88. installed, you just have to open the .ZIP file and run the SETUP.EXE file.

  90.        The installation program prompts you to enter the directory name in 
  91. which to store the files.   The installation program does NOT interfere with 
  92. any of your standard set-up eg, AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, *.INI,  path.   It 
  93. places the icon to start the BRIDGE game in a group called "BRIDGE"
  94. that it creates in the 'Programs' menu on the 'Start' button.   If you want,
  95. you can easily move this icon to a different group (by the usual method of
  96. dragging and dropping).

  98.       If you registered a previous version that gave you life time 
  99. registrations (like this one does), simply setup this Shareware program on

  103.        If  you created a temporary directory, eg C:\MYTEMP,  you can  now 
  104. remove it.

  106.        The total space that this program takes up on disk is about 3.4 
  107. Mbytes.

  109.        If you run BRIDGE and find that it does not fill the whole 
  110. screen, the answer is probably the screen resolution that you have chosen 
  111. for Windows.  You can change this via the Display icon in the Control 
  112. Panel.   It works best with standard resolutions, such as 640x480, 800x600, 
  113. 1024x768, or 1280x1024.   However it supports most other resolutions.  
  114. If it does not fill the whole screen, you can force it to use a particular
  115.  resolution by including on the command line /RESOLUTION500x400.   Adjust
  116.  the numbers to make the game suit your screen.   The command line is set 
  117. by the 'properties' of the 'Bridge' shortcut.

  119.         You will never want to do it, but you can delete the program, via
  120. the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon in the 'Control Panel' (use the 'START' 
  121. button, then 'SETTINGS').
